Let's Talk About Books Tuesday- Linky Party

I'm linking up with Mrs. Jump's Class and Let's Talk About Books Tuesday!

I am very excited to begin reading Rigorous Reading.  I will be providing professional development in the fall on increasing the rigor during reading and close reading.  I'm not reading this with a book club or a group of teachers, but I just wanted to learn more :)

It seems like it will be a great fit, because our staff really didn't want to add "one more thing" to their plate, but wanted to focus on improving current instructional practices. It also seems VERY practical and easy to implement.  The book is a "how to implement"  book, which is exactly what I need.  In addition, the book scaffolds how to teach students the close reading process which will be helpful for both the teachers and me :)

The book includes video QR codes which allow you to watch videos which will help make implementation easier.  There are also a professional learning guide, which I'm excited to use :)

    1. I would love to find a book study for this book. I was planning on blogging about it once a week (a chapter a week).

  5. I was so excited to read this blog post as this is the focus of my PhD study that I am still working on. Thank you so much for recommending this text - I just ordered it!!! How exciting. I really appreciate you sharing about it Bridget. I have published a couple of articles pre-thesis about some ideas around rigour, so I can't wait to read this book.
